FPV Drone Is Almost Unusable on PS5 Controller — Throttle Defaults to 50%

Under considerationby Omar · 02 Sept

I’m playing Bodycam with a PS5 DualSense controller. The FPV drone throttle is assigned to a self-centering analog stick, so whenever I release it, the stick returns to the middle and the game interprets that neutral position as 50% throttle instead of 0%. As a result, the drone keeps producing thrust when no input is being applied. Throttle Mid and Throttle Expo only modify the response curve and do not change the neutral point. It would be great to have a “Gamepad Throttle Mode” where the stick center equals 0% and the upper half covers 0–100%, or to allow the analog throttle axis to be remapped to R2.

When i enter the fpv mode my drone immediately throttles upwards and crashes into a wall, or whatever is above me. I know that it is not stick drift and i am using a ps4 controller.

the left stick that controls throttle is set to 50% by default because stick is in middle for normal gaming controllers and make 50-100% of controller stick proportional to 0-100% of the FPV drone in game control that makes controlling the drone easier

That's how its supposed to be. That's how FPV controls are. Throttle Expo (Drone tab in settings) moves the midpoint of throttle up and down the throttle curve if you prefer to have it different.

Everyone, increase your throttle mid. That will cause your drone to do to the ground, not up. Hope this helps. This is an easy fix issue just gotta play around with it.
