Show Chambered Rounds in the Ammo Counter

Under considerationby uber · 02 Sept

Update the ammunition display to distinguish between rounds inside the magazine and a round already loaded in the chamber. For example, reloading a 30-round magazine while a round remains chambered should display “30 + 1” or include a small chamber indicator. This would provide more accurate ammunition information and better reflect the weapon’s current state.

Suggestion: Improve ammo management realism I’d like to propose a small improvement regarding ammo management in Bodycam that could enhance the game's realism without fundamentally altering the gameplay. The Idea When a weapon is equipped with a 30-round magazine and a round is already in the chamber, the total ammo count should be: 30 rounds in the magazine + 1 round chambered = 31 rounds total. The round in the chamber is physically distinct from the rounds inside the magazine. Therefore, it should be accounted for separately. Example With a rifle equipped with a 30-round magazine: Full magazine: 30 Chambered round: +1 Total: 31 After firing one round: The chambered round is fired. A new round from the magazine is automatically chambered. This leaves 29 rounds in the magazine + 1 in the chamber = 30 rounds total. This would also better represent various reloading scenarios. Why this change? It would be a minor change, but it would add greater consistency to how weapons function in the game. Specifically, it would allow for a clear distinction between: Magazine = magazine capacity Chamber = round ready to fire Total = magazine + chambered round I believe this system would align perfectly with Bodycam's goal of offering a highly immersive and realistic experience. In summary: 30 rounds in the magazine + 1 round chambered = 31 rounds total. It would be a small gameplay improvement, but one that would further enhance weapon immersion and realism.
