Add Staged Reloads
Under considerationby YeetForDistance · 31 Aug
Make reload progress persist when the animation is interrupted by actions such as switching weapons, sprinting, or using equipment.
When the player returns to the weapon, the reload should resume from the last completed stage instead of restarting. For example, if the old magazine has already been removed, the operator should continue by inserting a new one.
This would make interrupted reloads feel more natural and ensure that every completed action has a consistent effect on the weapon.

Usually, when a player is reloading, and swaps to another inventory slot, the animation is interrupted, and when they reload the same gun again after switching back to it, the animation plays from the start, not where it left off. It would add more detail if it continued where it left off instead of starting from the beginning

It would help so much for long reloads like the Vaiga.

Currently, it is possible to cancel a reload animation even after the magazine has been removed. This sometimes creates an inconsistent situation: the weapon becomes fully usable again immediately, even though it is momentarily without a magazine.
I propose distinguishing between several stages of the reload process:
1. Before magazine removal
→ The reload can be cancelled normally.
→ The weapon retains its previous state.
2. Once the magazine is removed
→ The reload should no longer be simply cancellable.
→ The weapon enters an intermediate state: the magazine is gone, but a round may still be chambered.
3. Emergency situation
→ If a round is already chambered, the player could still fire a single shot.
→ Once that round is fired, the weapon becomes temporarily unusable until a new magazine is properly inserted and the reload cycle is completed.
4. New magazine
→ The game then resumes the reload sequence normally.
→ If the player aborts the action before the magazine is removed, they can immediately return to the initial state.
In-game example
30 + 1 → weapon ready
↓
Reload starts
↓
Magazine removed → reload now committed
↓
⚠️ Emergency situation → option to use the chambered round
↓
Round fired → weapon temporarily unusable
↓
New magazine / reload complete → weapon operational again

The gun that needs this the MOST is the revolver! If you load 7 out of the 8 rounds from empty and get interrupted, you have to start the ENTIRE thing over again!

Allow revolvers to be partially reloaded, for example: during the reload animation you've already inserted 4 bullets, you then cancel the animation such as switching weapons or pulling up the tablet, when you switch back to the revolver it should have 4 bullets remaining. Right now the entire animation needs to complete for you to have any bullets added. thanks.

This needs the most attention out of anything, this is necessary for the style of realism, otherwise I'm focusing on cooldowns instead of the action.

I tried to do a video doing it just for reference
