Add an Optional Both-Eyes-Open Sight Effect

Under considerationby Chillst3p · 31 Aug

Add an optional visual effect that simulates aiming with both eyes open when using holographic or red-dot sights. While aiming, the optic housing could become slightly blurred or transparent, preventing it from completely obstructing the player’s view while keeping the reticle visible. As this effect does not perfectly match a bodycam perspective, it should remain an optional setting.

Add transparency on the weapon's sight, or think of some other method to simulate shooting with both eyes open. This means that the weapon sight should not obscure the operator's view when he is aiming down sights. In real life, you almost never shoot with only one eye when using optic solutions such as red dots. Your support side eye enables you to see past the sight. This could be the first game to properly emulate what it looks like with both eyes open while using optics. It would also solve the issue of "meta" optics where less of the screen is obscured due to the structural design of said optics. Simply put, it is not very realistic to enter a combat zone equipped with more fragile optics such as the Walther MRS, just because it obscures less of your view. Eotechs should be preferred in realistic shooters, and the player should not be pushed towards "meta" picking sights that unrealistic for combat use.

I think this is the only game where this option doesn't make sense, as the game is played through the camera lenses not the operators eyes

I would love to see this in all fps games as an option at least.
