Add Modding and Steam Workshop Support

Under considerationby Krux · 31 Aug

Add community modding tools and Steam Workshop integration, allowing players to create, share, download, and host custom content. Community creations could include maps, scenarios, and game modes such as hostage rescue, night-vision missions, or asymmetric horror experiences. This would provide a continuous variety of new environments and gameplay ideas, extend the game’s longevity, and give content creators more experiences to showcase while the development team remains focused on official updates.

Game really needs the ability for the community to add maps and also change current maps, for way more game content and replayability. By adding the game workshop and tools the game will live way past release.

Bodycam really needs the ability for the community to add maps and also change current maps, for way more game content and replayability. By adding the game workshop and tools the game will live way past release. Bodycam will need a way to interface with steam workshop and with community made maps.

Hi Reissad team, I was wondering if you'd ever consider adding modding support for Bodycam, something similar to what Black Ops 3 offered with its Mod Tools would be amazing Specifically: • A map/level editor or SDK for creating custom maps • Steam Workshop integration, so the community could upload and browse maps and subscribe to them directly in-game I think it could add a lot of variety for players over time, even if it's just something to consider down the line Thanks for reading, and for all the work on the game so far!

Allow the community to import maps into the game. Would love to play Dust2 in this game

I'm only saying add workshop support for maps. This is the one area this game is really lacking is map diversity. The maps we have are great, but they get repetitive quickly. Allowing users to make maps (or adding mor dev made maps) is severely needed. Imo, this game is near perfect otherwise.

I know this might be a complex and long term update, but having the ability to use a map editor and create custom maps helps extend longevity into a game and gives the community the option to contribute! I've loved using editors such as battlefield 6 and Halo to make custom maps, and would love to see that option implemented into bodycam!

Workshop means new modes, new maps, new ideas. Some pve options and it will live beyond.

In-game system for map creation, the only question is whether you just pay once to use the tool, if it will be free, or if each map people make will have a price, then it's up to you developers to decide.

It would be really fun if this became a GMod 2 type thing, people able to create custom maps, weapons, characters, game modes, and so much more

Left 4 Dead 2 Campaign Style Zombies Mode. Where you're able to leave Point A to go to Point B, to then go to Point C, to then go to Point D etc etc. I would really love that as i love zombies media as a whole & would really be awesome if we can get that. obviously it won't be like a public competitive match (unless Versus mode but that's asking for too much)

Suggestion: Develop a full-fledged single-player story mode, or alternatively, introduce Steam Workshop support for custom narrative missions and maps. Details & Reasoning: While an official campaign would require significant resources, a narrative-driven mode set in the game's realistic atmosphere could offer a unique cinematic experience and expand the universe beyond multiplayer matches. If a dedicated official campaign is outside current development priorities, implementing robust Steam Workshop tools for custom missions would allow talented community members to create, script, and share their own story-driven scenarios and maps. This approach empowers the community to build out the narrative side of the game while keeping developer resources focused on core systems.

A system where you can drag mods into to mod servers and mod the game

  • DretWAB16 Sept

YES PLEEEAAASE! But I would say a in game custom map/mode maker similar to Forge from Halo is more valuable to the game, in order for the longevity of this game to live long after early access, Bodycam needs to go on console with the map/mode maker, so console players can have endless replayability, just look at Halo MCC 4k to 6k daily player count on Steam alone and it does have crossplay so probably 9k players daily and most of those players play Halo 3 and Reach, if it wasn't for Forge the map/mode maker and just the basic modes it would have no where near the player count it does have till this day.

Please, Bodycam would thrive from workshop support!

Don't do this until you are out of ideas. Modding takes away a lot of opportunities that Reissad Studios could make money off of. It would not financially benefit them in the long run and may hamper development. This should only be looked into years after 1.0.
