Add Weapon Hand Switching

Under considerationby eydubistdochskater · 30 Aug

Allow players to smoothly switch their weapon between the right and left hands. Changing the weapon side would make it easier to peek around corners in either direction while exposing less of the operator’s body.

Adding a shoulder swapping mechanic would make peeking around corners more dynamic, easier to control, and more realistic. Players could switch which shoulder they aim from depending on the side they are peeking, allowing them to expose less of their body and making corner peeking feel more natural and tactical.

Introduce a set of core mechanics to enhance close-quarters battle (CQB) realism, room clearance, and tactical depth: - Variable Movement Speed: Allow players to adjust walking and aiming speed incrementally using the mouse scroll wheel. - Weapon Stances & Shoulder Swapping: Add High-Ready, Low-Ready, and Low-Guard postures alongside the ability to transition the weapon to the opposite shoulder. - Dynamic Door Interactions: Implement options to peek doors open incrementally, kick them open, close them, or destroy them via breaching methods. - Caliber-Based Material Penetration: Scale bullet penetration through materials (drywall, wood, brick, metal) according to firearm caliber. - Flexible Utility Loadouts: Allow players to equip a customizable mix of fragmentation and flashbang grenades based on realistic equipment capacity limits. Why this improves the game: - While Bodycam offers an exceptional visual presentation, CQB doctrine relies on precise movement, muzzle discipline, and adaptable utility: - Pacing & Stealth: Scroll-wheel speed control lets players switch seamlessly between silent room-slicing (slicing the pie) and aggressive dynamic entries (Speed, Surprise, and Violence of Action). - Teamwork & Angles: Ready stances prevent muzzle clipping when stacking in narrow corridors, while shoulder swapping allows clearing weak-side corners without overexposing the operator's torso. - Room Clearance: Doors are the primary "funnels of death" in CQB; incremental control and breaching options bring realistic geometry management to interior engagements. - Cover vs. Concealment: Caliber-based penetration ensures thin wooden doors or interior drywall act strictly as concealment rather than bulletproof cover, opening options for suppression. - Tactical Adaptability: Forcing a choice between only lethal or non-lethal utility limits room clearance strategies; a flexible utility setup lets teams tailor their breach to the specific threat level inside.

So in order to slice corners and peak angles it be fantastic to give us the feature to transition our weapon to the left/right.
