Add Descriptions for loadout items

Under considerationby Dnkk · 29 Aug

Some loadout items like the various grenades or ammo choices can be pretty difficult to know how to use with only their names and no idea on how they function if you don't already have prior knowledge. For example, The M67 should have a description that mentions its timed fuse, while the RGN should mention that it explodes on impact. This can go for ammo types, both calibers and the variants themselves (9MM FMJ vs JHP for example and how they may behave differently), optics and anywhere else which doesn't list immediate stats.

Note: Everything here are opinions I have made by viewing the game and am not aware of all future plans for guns and attachments. 1. I have noticed that many of the attachments are very similar if not duplicates of each other, usually varying in color, shape, size, naming. Although im aware the attachment system isnt yet fleshed out or done I think it would be cool for attachments to be filtered/placed in categories based on their stats. As in the exact same stats, if you like the stats of a placeholder attachment shown you can click on it to see all variations/types of attachments (eg: underbarrel) that provide the exact stats shown. Then further into these types the color variations exist. 2. Remove Equip Time attachment attribute for primary weapons, the stat is essentially useless as this game doesn't necessitate a need for quick gun pullouts. Except for secondary weapons, because of its lack of use, attachments that overwhelmingly reduce this attribute but provide strong buffs are essentially broken. 3. Obviously gun statistics need to be shown. 4. Edit loadouts in matches 5. Night Vision Googles 6. I imagine bullet types will be developed soon. 7. Gun skins SHOULD NOT be unusable if certain attachments are used.

Add more description to weapon attachments, such as explaining difference of each type of ammo, types of flash lights, triggers, and so on. To help the player choose what to buy. Also saw a suggestion to allow preview of unowned med attachment. This can also help in deciding before buying but will not help with things like ammo types as it’s impossible to know the difference between each without a description

Add a short description to weapon attachments to prevent spending hours worth of R on the wrong coloured flashlight or something

Currently, we have no idea what the difference is between ammo types or the different flashlights. They don't have the cosmetic tag so I assume they differ in some way. Do the bullets give higher penetration, more damage, or more velocity? I got 300 BLK for my M4, thinking it would be subsonic and quieter with a suppressor, but there's no noticeable difference. Do the flashlights have different luminosities, intensities, or spread? Any sort of indication would be nice.

Some things should at least have a small explanation before you buy them. For example, the different types of nades (which I had no idea how they functioned until i got them)

for people who are less gun savvy a basic description of the ammo types when you hover over them and their effect in game would be greatly helpful.

Ammo types seem to be cosmetic at the moment but a good idea, nonetheless. Definitely needed for explosives and possibly gadgets.
