Add More Combat and Environmental VFX
Under considerationby Sj · 28 Aug
Add richer visual effects to make firefights and explosions feel more impactful and immersive. This could include thicker muzzle smoke, concrete and brick dust from bullet impacts, blast overpressure pushing dust into the air, and larger dust clouds or plumes caused by explosions, gunfire, and movement.
These effects could briefly linger and create a visible haze, especially during intense firefights inside buildings or in dusty environments.
"Concrete/brick dust — inside buildings, bullets hitting walls can pulverize the material and create a thick haze. Blast overpressure/dust — an explosion or nearby impact can push a large amount of dust into the air. Muzzle smoke — smoke produced right at the firearm when it fires. Dust cloud / dust plume — loose dirt or dust gets blasted into the air by bullets, impacts, or movement."

The impact FX of bullets on every surface is pretty low-quality (just a quick cheap dust cloud that instantly fades out).
It is the most glarring missing quality right now (atleast for me).
Imagine a room. You fire a gun. Dust kicks up (which you already kinda covered by making dust fall from the roof).
But in general the impact will kick up alot of dust, the gunfire itself will. The whole room vibrates and becomes cloudy.
Furthermore there is almost zero muzzle effect. No sparks no flash no fire no exhaust (almost zero).
Atleast add it for the big guns.
If you add those two things properly, it will add a lot more to the immersiveness.

I feel as if the impact smoke and debris are lacking, it's usually much more smokey and dusty when a bullet impacts something especially indoors, would be a pretty cool feature to add.

Whenever any shots are fired or a bullet hits a surface, it should create smoke that can get accumulated over time in enclosed areas, then get dissipated over a length of time. This wouldn't just add an immense amount of realism, but it would also add to the gameplay with smokier areas being identifiers for areas with recent high levels of action and gunfire.

Please go into crazy detail on dynamic smoke effects using fluid animations if possible. Can you make it better than CS:2??? :D o7

There should be a lot of dust that gets picked up from gunshots from the shockwaves, rounds hitting walls, floors of the trench. Grenade explosions and Fpv drone explosions should also pick up even more dust and chunks of dirt.

For example, when firing into trenches, earth and dust get flung into the air and obscure visibility—just like in real life; the same applies to grenades, only the effect is more intense (to get a better idea, look up clips of trench warfare from the Ukraine-Russia conflict on YouTube).

Grenade explosions, bullets impacting e.g concrete walls or shooting close to walls should kick up or leave environmental dust particles in the air, making the environment feel more alive and real.

Add realistic grenades, when explode in trenches add the big dust cloud just like IRL along with shrapnel, cause right now grenades feel so fake for such a good game.

I would like to suggest a visual rework for the smoke effects (e.g. from smoke grenades or environmental elements). Since the game relies heavily on photorealism, updating the smoke rendering would noticeably enhance the overall immersion

More realistic bullet hole decals, shattered glass, walls, objects, etc., will be destroyed by bullets. If you shoot through a wooden door with a shotgun, you can blow a hole straight through it. Add a little bit of Battlefield destruction. The more you shoot at an object, the more it will be destroyed. Add dust, smoke, particle effects, etc...

destructible terrain would make it 10X more realistic and bullets putting holes through walls would be off the charts for realism like going through cars or drones and grenades able to destroy terrain

Dragons' breath for shotguns and tracers that actually do tracer things. don't even make the dragons breath do fire damage but just seeing that wall of fire coming from around a corner from a full auto shotgun would be enough to make people not want to push you.
