Improve the Vaulting Mechanic

Under considerationby Hanser · 28 Aug

Improve vaulting would make movement over low obstacles feel smoother and more realistic

More movement and positioning options and better interaction with your environment.

Absolutely needed. Really felt on maps like CQB with a lot of low railings, or on House when trying to climb to the roof from outside.

Mobility in the game is pretty bad right now. There are a lot of obstacles the player for some reason can't simply pass over, and it would just feel right to be able to slide and jump over them.

This is a fair request, but lets be honest, not realistic. You're not vaulting over stuff IRL.

I'm sure it's in the works, but I do think it should be a top priority as far as mechanics that need to be implemented. It's incredibly frustrating (not to mention immersion-breaking) to not be able to hop over a log or a low window.

Suggestion to add vaulting to the game over small & medium obstacles

  • DivineTorusField08 Sept

YES this is a must. I want to be able to vault over railings etc much more than we currently can. AND to be able to get through some brush/bushes that somehow act like a fully solid object.

Add better mantling for climbing up and jumping onto objects, over ledges or through windows.

This is a must imo, everything else is quite solid (of course everything can be improved upon) but I think moving is lacking the most rn, the fact that these trained soldiers can barely hop over stuff that is as tall as their waist is funny. I would love to see them being able to vault over stuff a lot quicker as well, a few more parkour elements added would be nice to add to that realism.

After breaking a window, you should be able to vault through it.

**A few suggestions to improve Bodycam:** - **Wallbangs:** Bullet penetration feels really inconsistent. Sometimes bullets go through walls, but other times they can't even penetrate a small branch. It feels pretty random. - **Movement and vaulting:** The vaulting system could use some improvements. Sometimes you can't even climb over small tree trunks or obstacles. It feels a bit buggy, although it's not a huge issue. - **Blood and dismemberment:** I'd love to see more realistic and varied blood effects and dismemberment depending on the weapon used. Different calibers and weapons should have different impacts on the body. I think this would make the game even more immersive. - **Larger-scale game mode:** It would be awesome to have a more chaotic, large-scale game mode with more players and actual objectives to fight over. Something that feels like a real, intense battlefield. - **Weapon sounds:** This is a big one for me. I feel like almost every weapon sounds the same. Most assault rifles and machine guns seem to share very similar firing sounds. Each weapon should have its own distinct sound to make gunfights feel more realistic and immersive. Overall, I think these improvements could make Bodycam even better, especially when it comes to realism and immersion.
